Two combinations are being used on iNaturalist at the moment, which causes confusion and makes it difficult to find all observations of this taxon. Growing concensus, historically dominant usage, and biology favor O. lindheimeri as a species distinct from O. engelmannii, and thus is the favored arrangement followed in this swap. This is contrary to the listing at POWO; however, many sources list O. lindheimeri var. (or ssp.) linguiformis.
