This tiny frog was only perhaps 15 millimeters long, barely beyond emerging from its tadpole stage I should think, perched off the ground on a Swamp Agrimony (Agrimonia parviflora) plant. One hop and it was gone, too small to find again in its miniature jungle world. I am only guessing that it is some sort of juvenile tree frog, based on its general proportions and because it was climbing up on foliage. Perhaps it is too small to identify properly without a better view, but I don't know enough about some of our resident frogs to be sure. Can I safely eliminate the possibilities that this could be some sort of a toad, or the young of some aquatic frog? Short of catching such creatures with a little net, I guess I'm limited to random glimpses like this.
This was next to a cattail marsh along a small wooded stream, elevation around 315 meters (1133 feet).
