Seen within Everglades National Park tree hammock adjacent to marl prairie.
On Schoepfia schreberi
There was another individual seen on a separate plant earlier but I missed my chance at snapping a picture.
Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society's field trip in Everglades National Park. I had also walked Lucky Hammock before the trip and then a trail at the northern edge of LPK (Gate 9) after the trip.

Great find by @christina888!
The beetle-like insect was moving across the cool rocks slowly. The outer "shell" was mostly dark gray, but light red striping was seen along the edges. These liked the shady corridors of the Rocky Desert Scrub.
