Micrurus albicintus has a record in the Colombian Amazon (see distribution map in Nogueira et al. 2019) and this specimen is morphologically consistent with the species including the number of black rings, according to Roze (1996) males have between 67 and 90, the one in the photos has 72 black rings. PS: Similar coral snakes can be ruled out by the number of black rings, as in the case of M. anellatus which males only have between 34 and 61 black rings (Roze. 1996) and M. medemi which can have around 40 black rings (https:// www .inaturalist.org/observations/115296595) when the red rings are melanized.

When first spotted, the snake was on normal 'posture' resting or hunting, but not moving, but when we approached closer, it probably got freaked out by our lights and it started to flip over to 'play dead' and most of the time, trying to hide it's face/head.

Amazingly, a baby turtle crawled up, inched next to the snake and stayed.
