Eureka. Could this be the adult associated with laying all these egg coils?https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/218714497
I observed it for no more than a few minutes. It was about two feet away from three new egg coils. It left no trail as it wandered and circled a small area. It then decided to burrow: simply dipping into the soft sediment and within seconds it vanished without a trace, trail, or detectable hole.
~1-2 inches long, pronounced skirt, traveled quite quickly, lengthy oral tentacles.
My first one.

First one I have ever observed here! Seen at Mission Point Park around 7pm. Water temp 73F. Was very friendly and unafraid.

McDonald (@mcduck) of a specimen I found in the low rocky intertidal in the morning, collected, kept cool and then dropped off in Aromas, CA for Gary to photograph using his home aquarium setup, which he did that evening. Gary later relaxed and preserved the specimen and sent it to the Invertebrate Zoology collection at the California Academy of Sciences. Scanned from 35 mm slides.
Brenna Green (@lemurdillo, who had joined me for the low tide) and I were looking at this specimen in the field after I found it and were perplexed by its identity. We decided it was closest to Flabellina pricei (now Apata pricei), but the differences in color from the few other specimens of F. pricei I had seen, warranted its collection, and I labelled the specimen as Flabellina (pricei?).

Lots of stuff growing on and living among the mangrove roots.
About 30-35 mm long.
Photos 4 & 5 are without the flash and while a bit blurry, show a more natural color with some blue spots.

Here are the egg sacs side by side. I am trying to ID the right egg sac. I have just recently discovered the smaller egg sac while I have been looking for the adults that make the larger egg sac for.....too long.
The left egg sac is ~2 inches long. The right egg sac is ~1/2 inch long.

Didn't notice the blue tubercles until photo review. It looked like a pale Monterey Dorid in the water, with little to no yellow.

KGB type YOY…in my experience it is likely a copper, also some gopher/black and yellow YOYs in the school. Too small for me to make a for sure call.
