I want to know why is it white around the exit holes of this nest? Is it because of what they use to dissolve the mud?

It was inside an empty mud-wasp’s nest.
The eyes stand out to me 👀

Looks like a butterfly who couldn’t come out of the chrysalis? I’m not sure. What does it look like to you?
