From the shore, it looked like the Steller Sea Lion was furiously shaking a large fish. Photos show it was a Giant Pacific Octopus!

I watched it catch a bird very quickly. It came flying in up and over the hedge and quickly grabbing a sparrow. It was really difficult to get a photo of its tail.

Eating Caoba Tree Seed

A Rhinoceros Auklet swam and dived so close to the pier I could see it clearly.

Observed gathering nesting material from Willow tree along the North side of the El Dorado Trail and to the West of Latrobe Road in western El Dorado County in May 2020.

Onchidoris bilamellata (Barnacle-eating Nudibranchs) eggs laid in clamshells and on a barnacle-covered rock.

Nene with band ATA (black on orange) stayed close to Nene ZYP in a loose gathering of 28 (!) Nene plus one Snow Goose on the golf course. Location is approximate.

I saw almost a dozen of them around, and most were very fat like this one
