Post by June 20!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the 2021 BiodiverCity Challenge in Calgary! The observation period is now over but you have until June 20 to get everything posted. We are currently just short of 500 species but there are lots of observations that still require IDs. It's certain that we'll exceed 500, but how far will we get?

If you or any of your friends/family/colleagues were out taking photos of flora and fauna this past weekend, please ask them to share their photos before June 20th! We can also help to make identifications, but please only do so if you are confident with upgrading the IDs. As a last note, if you see any garden plants, pets, or captive animals (Zoos, rehab centers, etc.), please mark them as "Captive/Cultivated" to ensure we maintain a high standard of data quality!

If you would like to see how Edmonton compares to Calgary, please check out their iNaturalist Project: https://inaturalist.ca/projects/metro-edmonton-biodivercity-challenge-2021

Additional observations that were added to the ABMI NatureLynx app will be tallied June 20th to get an overview of biodiversity for Alberta's two largest urban centers! If you're curious about what has been added to NatureLynx, check out their "Missions" (similar to iNaturalist projects) below. Thank you to NatureLynx for spearheading this event!
