Vermont Lady Beetle Atlas Updates

Hello Fellow Lady Beetlers,

The lady beetles are emerging from their winter hibernation, and just like that, lady beetle season is upon us! A few notes:

  • The Vermont Lady Beetle Atlas has been changed to a Collection Project, meaning that all lady beetle observations made in Vermont and shared to iNaturalist will be automatically added to our project. If you are doing official Vermont Lady Beetle Atlas surveys, please make sure you fill out a field data form for each survey so that we get counts, effort and more! Online data form version link here and printable PDF here.
  • You haven’t adopted a lady beetle atlas Priority Survey Block? Consider adopting one or more blocks and help us survey across the state! Follow this link to learn more.
  • Check out the Vermont Lady Beetle BioBlitz, which starts on June 5. Join us in a week-long BioBlitz searching for all ladybugs, especially our 12 missing native species! Stay tuned for more information as the date approaches by joining the project, using the "Join" button in the upper right hand corner of the BioBlitz page.

Contact Julia Pupko (jpupko@vtecostudies.org) or Kent McFarland (kpmcfarland@vtecostudies.org) with any questions!
