My husband and I have been birding for over 40 years, but I became fascinated by butterflies when I had more time during the pandemic in 2020-2022. I was one of the many volunteers tending to the Wildscape Demonstration Garden in Phil Hardberger Park in San Antonio, Texas and noticed that we had many, many types of butterflies in the Garden. I made it my job to try to identify them, learn their larval hosts, and sharing information about them with Garden visitors.
