I am a Coleopterist first and foremost, particularly interested in the systematics and evolution of the beetle family Histeridae. However, I have branched out in many ways over my career, and am very interested in more general patterns of arthropod diversity as well, at the population and the community levels. Most of my current contributions to iNaturalist result from a fascination with the diverse communities of arthropods living in the leaf litter in the southern Appalachian mountains, particularly at the higher elevations.
