Hello! I’m a teacher and a civil servant, wife of a diplomat. Just moved back home after 30 years traveling the world. Currently living in Arlington VA. Most recently living and observing the biota of Uruguay and Kosovo. Wherever we go I study the ecosystem of our host country. I was originally interested in birds and pretty garden plants. I fed the birds with seeds and planted exotic perennials. Then I learned that birds mostly need caterpillars, and caterpillars need native host plants, and my mind blew open. I have been studying the role of native plants ever since and everywhere.

I join groups such as TreeStewards of Arlington and Alexandria and Taller en Verde in Uruguay. I give butterfly talks and I lead tree walks. I have a blog about native plants.
