Hello fellow Naturalitsts!
Intro to me: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I am a teen nature photographer (since 2017), birdwatcher (since 2018), amateur botanizer (since 2020), and general ecosystem enthusiast (since birth). I love learning how to read a landscape (understanding how organisms relate to each other so that I can see the inner workings of the environment), documenting it, and sharing what I find with others.
(P.S. I use He/Him pronouns)

I am an Ambassador/Volunteer for the Audubon Society of Northern Virginia (ASNV), American Bird Conservancy (ABC), Sunrise Movement (SM), EcoAction Arlington, Arlington County RIP Program, Arlington County Parks & Rec dept.. I've worked for the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center and their Bird Friendly Coffee/Cocoa program, Phoenix Bikes in Arlington VA, and various other environmental non-profits.
In my work and volunteerism, I aim to increase awareness of how ecological systems work, share how the earth's systems are failing, and encourage others to act, helping natural and human communities heal together.
To accomplish this, I am going to give a shoutout to ASNV and their amazing Birdathon competition and Stretch Our Parks (SOP) initiative. I have joined both because I believe both will have outsized positive impacts on local natural and human communities. Check them out!

How I use iNat: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I use iNaturalist manly as a catalog for my photos that also contributes to conservation efforts. If you need help with an ID that you think I know, reach out! I'm also always open to questions and discussions surrounding my observations.
My home base is in the DMV area, and I'm enrolled in Oberlin College, so you'll see a lot of observations from those places. If you want to connect with me at Oberlin (especially) or in the DMV, reach out! I'd likely love to meet you.

Feel free to use any of my photos for non-commercial means without contacting me (though I would appreciate knowing what I'm contributing to), as long as you give me credit. If you want to use any of my photos for commercial ventures, contact me first.
For my observations, I currently use my point-n'-shoot Nikon COOLPIX P-900 or my Google Pixel 3 phone or my phone with a 6x or 20x magnification lens. If you have questions about my techniques or equipment, feel free to contact me via iNaturalist email.

Enjoy this day on mother Earth!

As of Jul 19, 2023:
The "Chipperbirders" iNaturalist account that was shared by Danté & Maxwell Julius has now been split into two accounts. Danté uses @tinychipperbirder and Maxwell uses @chipperbirder. Most of the identifications given by the "Chipperbirders" account were from Danté and all of the observations were from Maxwell prior to this date.
