Ferns
During the Florida Native Plant Society Conference, a presenter from UF gave a wonderful presentation on the main types of ferns found throughout the state and how to identify them. The invasive Boston Sword Fern (Nephrolepis cordifolia), can be properly identified by looking at the back of the frond. The pinnules should overlap one another at the base of the rachis where they're attached. Osmundastrum cinnamoneum (Cinnamon Fern) typically has fertile (with spores) fronds and infertile fronds. Pleopeltis michauxiana (Resurrection Fern) has pinnules that are not fully divided from the base of where they're attached at the rachis.
