Lab 3 Journal Entry

On the phylogeny tree, Cosmos bipinnatus is a part of the genus Cosmos, which is a part of the flowing plants under seed plants. It is a part of the eukaryote family and a land plant.

One adaptation that all my observations have in common are they all have bright colours to attract insects to visit so they can spread their pollen.

A unique adaptation that sunflowers have is that they have a trait called heliotropism, meaning that they face the sun all the time during the day. In the morning, the sunflower faces east, and it moves with the sun to face west at the end of the day.
