Out of roughly 125 copperheads I saw each year during my most involved years photographing and catching snakes, I never saw a copperhead eating another snake. It’s virtually unheard of to see such a sight, so I was in awe as I watched this copperhead eat a full-grown dekays brownsnake. I didn’t stay for the entire process, but I did get two photos. Posted under broad-banded copperhead and dekays brownsnake so it shows up for both sightings.

A beautiful (4.5ft) coachwhip found underneath a slab of dolomite on the Missouri mini-deserts. I was surprised to see it play dead like an Eastern Hognose :] That definitely made my day!
