Perennial clumping herb growing from unknown rootstock, c. 60-70 cm tall in flower. Leaves linear, apparently basal, tufted, c. 25-30 cm long and less than 5 mm wide. Inflorescence laxly several-flowered. Claw petals c. 2-3 cm long.
Growing in seepage wooded grassland in sandy loam soil.
Definitely a pine (it dropped pinecones). This tree had a woodpecker in it.
