Very fragile stem, white in color. Caps were very umbonate and brown, lightening towards the margin. Giant troop growing in my mulch pile. I’ll see if they fruit again this year.
Orange cap and stipe, gills pale orange-yellow; slightly decurrent. Tested my suspicion, and the gills secreted a white fluid when cut. No discernible syrup-like smell, I doubt it’s L. rubidus.
Cap: Orange to dark orange. ≈1in in diameter. Depressed.
Gills: Light orange. Subdecurrent.
Stipe: Equally as orange as the cap. Not pruinose.
Annulus: Not present.
Volva: Not present.
Spore color: White.
Spore morphology: Spherical, ornamented or spiky by the look of it.
