Family: Boraginaceae. Common name: Pacific waterleaf. Herbaceous stems. Leaves palmately lobed, dark green. Flowers in compact heads.

Common name: Piggyback plant. Herbaceous stems. Complete flowers with 3 stamens that are unequal. Calyx is greenish-purple to brown. Leaves palmately veined and shallowly lobed.

A really nice Lily found in Levensworth during our field trip.

Growing in Auburn across the street from the sounder station underneath Xanthocyparis nootkatensis.

Ryegrass Summit Rest Area on I-90. Found Mertensia sp. growing in the dog run area in large numbers.

Found growing next to a small creek off of Hayward Road. The area was fairly flat, and the plant was growing among Dodecatheon sp.

Located on roadside, not far from turn-off onto Hayward Road from Highway 10

Lysichiton americanus found on the side of the road in marshy area.

-pointy, conical buds are visable
-many cones underneath
-rivals the Thuja plicata as the biggest tree in the neighborhood
