Observed at bottom of hill side. Spiked leaves forming a rounded bunch with flower stalk protruding from the center about 8 feet. Bell shaped flower white and purple form stalk like inflorescence.
Kumeyaay used spines for piercing and tattooing. Stalks are roasted in pots to eat.Leaves were used for cordage.
Really seems to be enjoying a shower in the grass irrigation on this warm San Diego day
