habitat: crossing gravel road in hilly piney-woods with thick underbrush near hardwood gully. As I finished taking the pics, a truck was coming so I tried to get the snake to move from road so it wouldn't get run over, but It wouldn't budge. I moved my truck out of the way to give the approaching truck room to pass with plenty of space to avoid the snake. However, the truck stopped and the driver shot the snake several times.
