Cambridgea annulata on orbweb of Eriophora pustulosa, with what looked like predatory intent. As an asides, the Cambridgea is not small. For some reason, all garden orbweb spiders on Chatham Island seem to be the size of a walnut!
This individual was found along Tarakena Bay by a member of public on June 24th 2022 and viewed by a PfP Committee Member on June 25th 2022.
Scanned for transponder but bird was not tagged.
Mostly seedlings and young plants noted growing along strandline. This location is one of the strongholds for this species, which is now nearly extinct in Australia (still present in Tasmania) and extinct in the main islands of New Zealand.
Plants with male flowers only, female yet to develop.
