Luchan's salamander (as described in Kalaentis at al, Herptofaunz of Kastellorizo, 2018) found dead on steps in village after first serious rain of the Autumn. Usually found in numbers in spring.
found under a rock; note prominent hedonic and cloacal protuberances of this adult male; the site is in range of the nominate subspecies of L. luschani (localities 29-31 in Veith et al. 2001: doi.org/10.1080/09397140.2001.10637850) and corresponds to the nominate luschani phyloclade (sample lus-p19 in Veith et al. 2020: doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0226326)
