I found this feather in the Santiago Creek bed.
Any Larid experts care to weigh in on the species of these?
I found this feather while on a hike. It was quite strongly stuck onto a sparse, thorny bush. The rachis is white all the way through (except for brown on the front, top half of the feather). One-third to one-half of the length is covered by gray downy barbs, and the rest of the feather is white with brown stripes.
I am not confident in my identification, so any help would be appreciated!
Looks like another screech owl moved in (unless it was eaten too).
