Discovered this in the corner of my backyard where a lot of weeds grow. These weeds are growing on their own and in abundance. I love how they look like leaves growing out of the ground. These weeds are a part of the mint family. This plant has been used as medicinal herbs are are also eaten in salads in other countries.

The firefly was on one of the posts on my front porch. This made it easy for me to spot him out over him being hidden in leaves of a plant. I found it while looking around my yard for my observations and I was satisfied to see that is was easy to spot out. I didn't notice before that fireflies had antenna and this little guy did, which was cool and interesting to see.
Another name for this firefly is the Big Dipper firefly and is the most common species of firefly in North America. I thought it was really cool to see how vibrant the color of its head was. Its head was a deep red-orange color and that was helpful when spotting it out!!
