Growing from a decayed conifer stump.
Cap 6cms., yellow-brown, tomentose, cracked.
Pores yellow, yellow-brown, angular and semi-decurrent, staining bluish-green.
Stem equal, narrowing at the base.
Spores (9.8)-(10.5-12)-(13) x (3.6)-(3.75-4.0)-(4.2); (Ortiz-Santana dimensions fit best), Qaver=2.9 cylindric.
Basidia (23x5) clavate.
Hymenial cystidia projecting (50x90),
fusiform with acute apex.
Fits all characteristics of the species except the cap is viscid, sticky and bald.
On dead conifer. Strong anise smell. Taste mild. About 4 pores/mm. Spores 5 microns X 3. Pore layer 1 mm. Flesh brownish. Pore layer cream, but immediately browning where handled.

Discoloration of cap likely due to freezing temperatures. ITS matches P. corrugis
Another small alder Cort. All found growing under thick layer of fallen leaves, at the base of an alder. cone for scale. Spores 8.9 x 5.1
Very small, largest caps ~1cm.
Consistent white cap/orange gills. Growing on a large hemlock stump
Abundant in conifer duff below madrones and Douglas Firs. Cap, mature gills, lower stalk and spores burnt orange. The cap has tiny red-brown fibrils and blue-gray stains. In age it has a phenolic odor. Mycelia and duff cling to base of stalk. Cobweb veil remnants on annulus.
