1.2 to 1.3 mm in length; searching pattern on south facing trunk of a western Sycamore. Tree shows signs of unsuccessful ISHB attacks. One or two argentine ants (Linepithema humile) found on shady side (Northern). See https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/100723343
No evident hostility.

A heat wave seemed to trigger large numbers of ants around the Bay Area to have their nuptial flights. This queen was no exception and I caught her and a two others(I was severely limited in my ability to carry ants not in my ability to catch them) that were attracted to the bright lights of the Warm Springs BART station. Six weeks later this queen has a successful colony of about 5 to 8 workers living inside a glass test tube
