Spotted those small to medium besutifully patterned turtle as we were crossing a stream in the Arroyo Hondo preserve.

Came across this medium sized Western pond turtle when we were crossing a stream at Arroyo Hondo Preserve.

Exactly as found, on the edge of a small stream. Quite a climb for the little guy.

An adult was seen but not vouchered in the larger main stream some hours later.

Around 30 inches in total plastron length.

Found dead? turtle at Sespe Creek in a rock; don't know cause of death
