One of two coyotes that were barking at me shortly after daybreak. As soon as one saw me, it started barking. Shortly after, a second coyote about a quarter mile away started barking and began to run closer. Fortunately, I had my boots on and was able to wade into the marsh. Both coyotes circled the marsh, barking at me, for about five minutes before running off to the north. I'm glad I got this recording (and saw my first Kane County Nelson's sparrow in that marsh), but the experience was unnerving.
