Male. Nectaring on yellow daisy bush on side of Mariposa Rd. (frontage road) in Hesperia off the Ranchero Road exit.

Super-abundant in this small corner of the cow pasture. Both sexes out, vast majority fresh.

Female

A nice find by the Orrs yesteday. Found today south of the turtle pond, north of Meadowbrook. Sat cooperatively for photos.

A fairly early arrival and likely breeder here. Near large willow lake. Sang once the first half (questioning song) but not last half (answer song)

Two pairs, flying around, landing at top of oaks. East of restrooms.

Two seen along nature trail.

Continuing rarity since last Fall. At one point it dropped down into deep foliage at the close passing of a Merlin.

Huge fresh male on Lantana montevidensis. Near intersection of Telegraph and Rosemead in Pico Rivera.

A continuing rarity in the SW corner of the park, near Berkshire Creek.

Collected as larva October 22, 2023; emerged November 15, 2023. Female.

Female. Tons of both sexes at mud.

How the heck did this guy get so far west? Big male.

Males, females, and a mating pair. Common today.
