I saw these turtles in the lake at the Warrina Botanical Gardens at Innisfail, near the Johnstone River. A sign erected near the lake refers to the Johnstone River Snapping Turtles or Irwins Turtles, so I was assuming that that was a likely ID for these individuals. It now seems that is incorrect! These are Krefft’s River Turtles.
