I spent some time camping out the tar seeps around the park, following a tip from the LA NHM. Eventually I came across this individual hopping over the surface.

The images shown were taken at the Purdue Electron Microscopy Facility after I had the opportunity to isolate and name this phage. It is now listed in the Actinobacteriophage Database under the name "Zigan". This phage was isolated from a soil sample and grew on the host Mycobacterium smegmatis mc²155. It has not been sequenced yet, as of October 2020.

Cuando se secan se ven huecos y esparcen un polvo blanco, y si se abren mientras están húmedos sacan una crema amarillenta.
