Tinian Is. Note grayish-brown forehead, crown, mantle, back, scapulars and rump; white tips on all outer tail feathers; white undertail; blackish legs. I was thrilled to find this threatened and endemic species of Tinian. This was one of approx. 10-12 I observed over several hours.
Southwest of El Valle de Antón.

This is an old image from 2004 that I'm posting because of interest in my recent shots of this Hexatomini. I've photographed several over the last 20 years, always in the same area at Cedar Bog. Quite small, as you can see from the size perspective of the mites.

Christmas Bird Count! I helped out with the Fort Worth Circle -- there were 109 bird species documented in this circle! We spotted around 50 in our designated area. Had such a blast with Grace, Avery, and Elizabeth. :)
Update:
I found several of these at Cedar Bog again this year. The last one might be Hexatoma brevicornis, so if you have expertise, please D.

Note: I have photographed this Hexatomini at Cedar Bog in Champaign County, Ohio for at least 17 years. Always in the same area.
I've added two other observations; one from back in 2004.

Here's an observation this year (2022) with better pics of wing venation. Same location.

Seeing this bioluminescence has always been a dream of mine. So cool.
