Drama. These guys all normally get along pretty well, but here a squirrel decided to start something and nearly got kicked in the head as reward. Moments later they were back to munching sunflower seeds side-by-side again.

Is… is this what I think it is??? I’m thinking it could be part of the carapace. But its WAY out of range. But at the same time the speckles line up too well as does the curvature…

Sea Otter seen off left most sea stack at Silver Point swimming on its back with front paws held close to its face. It would disappear underwater, dive down, and was a fast swimmer.

weirdest and possibly coolest?? spot of my life. found this little fish quite high up on the shore (above strand line) at horseshoe bay, bermuda. i thought it looked a bit like a lanternfish but wasnt super sure.. convinced myself it must be some kind of fry that dried v dark. i left it on the beach. but i posted a picture on instagram and many people thought it was a lanternfish too! (thanks especially to knowledgeable naturalist @lukef2006 for the ID!!!!)
i went back out to the beach in the dark - with my mom and our dog django, armed with flashlights, to look for it! somehow my mom located it by retracing our steps from before!!! i brought it home and hope to preserve it with help from BAMZ. it is pretty shiny, and the fins look like a lanternfish. i would really appreciate any insight into what lanternfish species it might be - as well as any speculation as to what it was doing on an inshore beach!!
