Large clusters attached to bedrock and boulders below 20 m depth. Each tunicate is about 10 cm tall. The white "rings" visible in the second image are colonies of the hydroid Bythotiara huntsmani which live in the incurrent siphon of the tunicate.

Filamentous desmid with a broad gelatinous capsule. Similar to Spondylosium javanicum as seen here http://protist.i.hosei.ac.jp/PDB/Images/Chlorophyta/Spondylosium/javanicum_3.html and Spondylosium moniliforme as seen here http://www.snoringcat.net/AlgaePage/browse.php?path=./Algae/Desmids/Spondylosium. Both are indicated as taxonomically valid at Algaebase.org.
- A water sample was taken on 08/27/2022 from the shore of Long Pond using a 10µ dip net to enrich for microbes. Air temp. 80°F.
