A turkey vulture visited my balcony several times today. Definitely my coolest animal encounter of the year so far!
This was shot from behind a window with UV-blocking film, which is slightly reflective (and why some of the photos are a bit hazy). The bird seemed to be interested in its reflection.
Multiple times it perched on the railing with its wings outstretched for awhile. Is this done for sunbathing, or something else?

Vespa velutina male from the first nest observed in Wallonia and collected by the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre. Dead individuals from this nest conserved in a freezer.
