Growing from well rotted/soft small chunks of either Beech or Maple. Clear blue bruising on stipe. ~20 feet up mild slope from ephemeral pond in a forest.

Collected by Jason Slot, whose chickens were digging these up but not eating them. Locally abundant in a a wooded floodplain. Strong foul, pungent odor. Smooth exterior.
