Tomorrow is the last full day of the City Nature Challenge. Our first ever showdown ends at noon on Thursday 4/21, so set some goals to add observations and to help with identifications over the next day and a half.

If anyone needs extra motivation, there are still some relatively low-hanging fruit that either haven't been observed in the Bay Area or don't have verifiable observations (e.g. with photos, not captive), including
Leopard Shark
Arboreal Salamander
Santa Cruz Aquatic Garter Snake
Northern Flicker
Red-breasted Sapsucker
Belted Kingfisher
Spotted Sandpiper
Ring-billed Gull
Killdeer
Brown Pelican
American Kestrel
Townsend's Warbler
Xystocheir dissecta (a common yellow and orange millipede under logs all over the Bay Area)
Black Widow
Eriogonum nudum (naked buckwheat)
Lactuca serriola (prickly lettuce, common weed)
Ambrosia chamissonis (silver burr ragweed, common on dunes)
That's really just a sample, still plenty of urban stuff that hasn't checked in.
