2016 Macaulay Honors College Brooklyn Bridge Park Bi...

Macaulay Honors College partnered with Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) for the 2016 BioBlitz. BBP is a brand new, 85 acre park built on a mile and a half of reclaimed shipping piers. The park grounds are managed organically and made up of diverse and varied ecosystems designed to provide habitat to local wildlife. It should be an interesting year with constructed wetlands, salt marshes, forests and a half acre flower field to survey. Over 400 Macaulay students found 246 species on the piers of the park.
