I am avid hiker and photographer in my local parks and natural areas. I have been observing plants and animals for a long time, but I only decide to post pictures when I have found an interesting subject. My photography is mostly of animals and natural areas, typically involving macro/close-ups. Now that I am on inaturalist I am not sure if I would like to use my more artful photography for such a thing as just identifying plants and animals. I get excited when I spot a species of animal that is new to me, but it may be more because I want to capture it's beauty and not to make a scientific observation.
