Found in La Nana creek in Nacogdoches, TX. It was raining and cloudy. The temperature was approximately 78 degrees with a high humidity percentage. The creek was full of algae bloom and the turtle was swimming around the bank of the creek.
This specimen was found while flipping logs. It was observed resting under an old pine log. The was a hardwood dominated area covered in leaf litter. The temperature was 88 degrees with zero precipitation.
Specimen was found on another piece of the concrete sea wall sunbathing on the football stadium side of the ag pond. Sunny and 81 degrees.
Specimen finally got on top of the branch after trying a few times. When one specimen finally gets on top the other ones fall off as the branch rolls. Multiple turtles have come and gone on this branch so it is hard to differentiate between them but a rough estimate put about 5-6 turtles around this area. This includes two rather large ones that roll the branch the most. Sunny and 81 degrees
Found in a creek near a pond and was sitting on a rock. No cloud coverage and is 82°F. Found on 10/22/22 at 1:04 pm.
Found in Lost Maple State Natural Area on the West Trail, near point of interest # 5 - Spring. Lizard was basking on rocks. May also be Sceloporus poinsettia. Identification not positive.
