Heard repeatedly from sedge meadow at S end of trail. First sang at 8:38 PM. Distinctive ticking; alternating sets of twos and threes “tic-tic, tic-tic-tic, tic-tic, tic-tic-tic”. Recording attached!

Rest in eternal peace buddy. You're looking at the mournful remains of a fledgling dove cursed with a fractured left wing. I know there's little sense in mourning a wild animal, but I had a chance to help this one and failed to do so. The surprising depth of my grief has me ponder the influence of other living beings on our own emotional well-being, and furthers my belief that all organisms are fundamentally interconnected
