Catch and release aquarium, specimens from Nantucket waters.
This tropidurid lizard was found at night sleeping on a branch nearly two meters off the ground in a forested area approximately 65 km ENE of Pucallpa during a month-long herpetological survey led by Louisiana State University to conduct a flora & fuana assessment of the region. This remote area is only a few km from Brazil's border.
Was not expecting to encounter this species whatsoever, especially after having seen it on the ground on base. I was wondering if this individual had the juvenile coloration?
These eggs were found on the bottom of a rock in a fresh water stream. They are the size of a pearl on a pearl headed pin. If you zoom in the eggs appear to have eyes on a developing larvae -(zoom in on the focused area upper left) . This is not an algae.
