Identified in the field by @lohump who gently encourage the bee to move onto her hand, then evaluated the hairs on the bee's head and abdomen and decided it was B. vos. Then she put the bee back down by the flower and gently encouraged it to move back onto a petal. I was amazed. @lohump assured me that bumblebees are calm and rarely sting. Oh?
