I was surprised to find Clavaria fragilis vermicularis (Fairy Fingers) growing in a sunny spot in the grass. I've only found it a couple times before, always in very dark forests.
Growing close to base of Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii). About 10 inches (25.4 centimeters) in diameter
I think these are Laccaria amethysteo-occidentalis (Western Amethyst Laccaria). There were dozens in a clearing beside the deep forest.
