Mimosa biuncifera, lower Bar Canyon, west side of the Organ Mountains, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, 17 Jul 2010.
Growing on the side of the road, appears to be a volunteer from trees planted in the median by @desert-dac. Most spines are single, leaflets are long.
A short, clumping grass-like plant growing on the side of the road. It seemed thicker than grass, though, but I didnt get close enough to check it out properly.
