Hello! My name is Katie (she/her/hers), and I work as a forester and wildland firefighter in Minnesota, USA. I am hoping that by joining iNaturalist I can get myself out into nature more often (during non-work hours!) and train myself to be more observant while outdoors. This community seems like a great way to observe the Earth's fauna and flora from places I may never get to see for myself. I also hope to practice my plant identification and increase my knowledge about insects, both local and non-local. I love bugs, and hope to be an entomologist in some sort of professional capacity one day.
