I am a class of 2019 graduate from the University of Kansas, with a bachelor of science in Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology and a minor focus in Astrobiology. I was a teaching assistant for biology labs and a lab assistant in microbiology during undergrad. I also did research on Tillandsia, and I am currently working on a publication to describe a new species of late Eocene insectivores related to modern shrews.

I heard about iNaturalist through a professor shortly before I graduated. I only wish I knew about it earlier. I spent a lot of my childhood playing outdoors, finding and identifying as many species of frogs, slugs, birds, arthropods, and plants as I could. Unfortunately, I didn't photograph everything I saw. I consider iNaturalist to be a continuation of my childhood hobby, but I also believe it is incredibly important to document species. I try to catalog as many species as I can wherever I go, and I purposefully plan trips with nature in mind. I wouldn’t say I have any favorite taxa, I am excited to learn about anything.
