I'm a bryophyte ecologist currently finishing my PhD at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, under the advisement of Dr. Lloyd Stark. My research involves the ecophysiology of arid land mosses with a focus on assessing the vulnerability of these important and undervalued plants to climate change. I've been lucky enough to find myself moss hunting in some of the most beautiful dry lands N. America has to offer including Grand Canyon National Park (my Masters research) and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument (a current project). My GSENM bryophyte project on iNaturalist is in-progress and all identifications will be completed by the end of summer 2019! Lots of time at the microscope awaits me, but this is some of my most enjoyable time in bryology when I'm not out on the hunt...! Lastly, I'm building a Citizen Science iNaturalist project for monitoring the distribution and health status of biocrust communities, so if you'd like to learn more and help these cryptic biological gems, please search for "Citizens of the Crust" under the Projects page (Community Tab)!
