I am an amateur naturalist now specialising in Lichens and Bryophytes. My patch is Sussex. I only travel by public transport to reduce my carbon footprint. I am a retired teacher (special education).

I also like birds, butterflies, moths, bumblebees and solitary bees; but I do not record sightings of these here. I record birds on the BTO;s BirdTrack and butterflies, moths and bees on iRecord.

I am a volunteer guide at RSPB Pagham Harbour and the Garden Bird Watch Co-ordinator for the Shoreham and District Ornithological Society.

I am a member of the British Lichen Society, the British Bryology Society, the British Mycology Society, PlantLife, The Woodlands Trust, the RSPC, the BTO, Sussex Ornithology Society.
